Meet Play for a Cure Team Members!

P4AC warmly welcomes our team members and would like to introduce them to you.  As a part of the P4AC team these guys will be seen at our fundraising ventures offering their generous time and support helping P4AC work towards its goal.

We asked them to answer some questions about themselves and why they wanted to join the team here at Play for a  Cure.

Name:  Sueann Yates (Knighty)

 Age:  46 

Occupation:  Semi Retired

Achievements in 2010:  Making it to 2010 and feeling the healthiest I have in years considering…..
 
Working Towards:  Being healthier and here for a long time to share my wonderful life with my gorgeous husband Mark!

 What inspires me:  The endless amount of family and friends that love me and are there for me unconditionally in good times and bad! As well as all the battlers in this crazy world of ours, we are all battlers in some way shape or form.

One wish:  That all the people I love and care for are healthy and live their life to the fullest and have no regrets!

Favourite Quote:  I actually have two: “Life is not a dress rehearsal” and “Add life to your days not days to your life”

Why do I want to be a P4AC Team Member:  Just wanting to help those who want to help others! There are not enough people in this world making sure we take care of each other. We all have different obstacles to over come and if I can help in some small way then I am ready to take that on and lend a helping hand. Having had cancer myself as well as my mother, my father and one sister, plus endless friends and their families, it seemed the only natural thing to do. I wish during my many years of illness there was this type of support out there – that is why is means so much to me!

Occupation:  PE Teacher Aide 

Achievements:  Making QLD Heat team 2009/2010. Winning Brisbane Softball Daphnee Haas MVP Award 2008
 
Goals for future:  To help others in need (particularly those effected by Cystic Fibrosis) and to travel and work overseas

 
What inspires me:  A lot of people have inspired me in different ways.  The tough times some of my friends have endured and come through the other side with a smile, the outlook some of them have on life, that way that some of them take every opportunity they are given with both hands and do everything possible to make it into what they want or just the way some people give 100% all the time.

One wish:  That everyone has the equal opportunity to experience life and all its joys

Why do I want to be a P4AC Team Member:  So many people suffer from such horrible diseases including cancer, it is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a charity so special that is helping those people in need.

Achievements in 2010:  U19 Australian Softball squad, U19 Qld Softball Team Member

Most treasured moment:  Receiving my first Queensland shirt

Working Towards:  Junior World Championships in 2011

What inspires me:  My Family and my love for the game

Hero: Kelli Gross

One wish:  To represent Australia
