$$$$ raised for Play for a Cure

With the softball season back in full swing, the P4AC committee were able to meet with Brisbane Softball Association to finalise the monies raised from our inaugural Yellow Socks Softball Challenge.

We are extremely happy to report that over $7000 was raised and handed over to Play for a  Cure and to the junior development programme at the Brisbane Softball Association.  The junior softball development squad, the Diamonds, was Deb McColm’s dream and the funds raised will go a long way to assisting the juniors who play the game we love.

Play for a Cure are honouring Deb McColm and Jannita Dunn – we are splitting the money we received and will disburse it to the charities chosen by their respective families.

Plans are already underway to ensure we get this event up and running again this year.  Even with the abysmal weather we experienced in December last year, raising over $7000 was a tremendous effort and again a big thank you goes out to the Brisbane Broncos, the Aussie Softballers, the BSA and the small army of volunteers who made the event happen.

To the committee of Play for a Cure, my sincere gratitude and thanks.  Can’t wait for this year’s event on a nice sunny day!
