Who Benefits?

At our AGM, the board decides which cancer research agency will receive the funds raised in the previous financial year. We have formed strong alliances with ACRF, QIMR Berghofer & RBWH Foundation & we are immensely proud to advise that 100% of all funds that P4AC donate, go to the intended cancer research.

ACRF Accelerate program

Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF)

ACRF’s mission is to outsmart cancer by providing the technology, equipment and infrastructure Australian researchers need to continuously explore new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat all types of cancer.

Since our first donation to ACRF of $3,000 back in 2012, we have donated another $99,500, bringing our total to $102,500. We have seen first hand the equipment that is required by the incredible scientists and P4AC is committed in continuing our support.

QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Foundation

QIMR Berghofer seek to discover, diagnose and deliver better treatments for some of the world’s deadliest diseases.  Better health through medical research.

Established as the leading philanthropic funding partner of Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Foundation’s remit also includes the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) and Redcliffe Hospital, a sister-hospital within the Metro North Hospital and Health Service.  RBWH Foundation assists our partners to nurture the brightest medical minds in Australia, and our dedicated volunteer Compassion Crew promotes an environment of healing and wellness, welcoming and assisting thousands of patients and visitors to RBWH and STARS each year.

We have been able to support numerous research scientists at the QIMR.  Professor Bryan Day (pictured with our Ambassador Mel Roche, on the left) leads the Sid Faithfull Brain Cancer Laboratory and we donated $50,000 to his laboratory to concentrate on childhood cancers, more specifically childhood brain cancers.  We have committed further funds to research Ewing’s Sarcoma and Hodgkin’s lymphoma in honour of our 2 young friends Kirsty and Addie.  In 2021, off the back of Paula’s headshave, we have committed to donate to QIMR’s breast cancer research.

We have donated $31,000 to Dr David A Pattison (photo right) (Associate Professor (UQ); Deputy Director, Department of Nuclear Medicine, RBWH), where he and his team are delivering an Australian first in prostate cancer. The world is watching.  See more as shown on Channel 9 Brisbane news in 2018.

P4AC Personal Foundation

P4AC Personal Foundation has assisted 3 cancer patients and their families. We are also pleased to advise that all 3 beneficiaries are doing well to this day.

McKellar Family

Hockey family

Allsworth family

Multiple Cancer programs

We have donated the remainder of our funds raised for research to those listed above and generally at the direction of the main fundraiser. For example when Grace and Sienna ran the Children’s Gold Coast fun run to raise funds for P4AC they asked we direct our funds to CanTeen.
